There was full participation from the church family in Armistice commemorations for Remembrance Day Services.
Some members attended the War Memorial at 06 00 for the playing of the traditional Scottish Lament – Battle’s O’er.
The Act of Remembrance and wreath laying formed part of the morning church Service. The seniors from the Girls and Boys Brigade, along with church ex-service personnel joined in the parade to the afternoon service at the towns War Memorial.
Our evening church service commenced at an earlier time with a focus on the role The Bible played in WW1. The day’s events concluded in the Market Square at 19 00 with the Last Post and lighting of WW1 beacon to symbolise an end to the darkness of war and return to the light of peace.
