David & Debbie Colvin2

David and Debbie Colvin’s Update February 2020

We send you greetings in the Name of our Lord.

Teaching
We are back at the Irish Baptist College teaching a mission class on Tuesday mornings and
are teaching on some Thursdays this semester in a ‘Christianity and Culture’ course. It is
great to have these opportunities for ministry and please pray it will help the students in their
current and future ministries for our Lord.

I (David) am teaching the fourth and final course on Hermeneutics to the Prophetic Seminary
students on Saturday mornings at the Mourneview Assembly. This is the fifth term in the
programme of study and I hope to teach Homiletics (preaching) in the sixth and final term of
the 2-year programme. Pray a new set of students will enrol for the start of the next
programme of study in September 2020. Three extra people are already taking doctrine
courses and we expect they will continue to study in September.

Debbie will be teaching a familiar subject, ‘Old Testament Poetry and Wisdom Books’, as
part of the Women’s Study Fellowship programme at the Belfast Bible College from Monday
27th January. There are 18 students in this class. As the coordinator of the programme she
also has many administrative tasks to perform.

Preaching
I am due to preach at Carndaisy Baptist again on 2nd Feb and at Killicomaine Baptist on
23rd Feb. Please pray these services go well.

Bible Studies
Debbie leads a women’s Bible study for Carndaisy Baptist on the last Thursday of the month
so that’s the 30th January and then again on 27th Feb. She really enjoys the interaction with
these ladies as they study the Word of God together and also at the other women’s Bible
study group which meets in a friend’s home near Coagh. The next meeting of that group is
5th February.

I was asked to lead a monthly Bible study for the men of Carndaisy Baptist. This is a new
programme and we had the first meeting on 20th January. Attendance was encouraging and
everyone took part. We are going through a series of studies for men from selected
passages in Ephesians.

This year it looks like I will (DV) be leading the Bible Study/Prayer Meeting at the CWU,
Magherafelt, on the 4th Tuesday evening each month. A few faithful people regularly attend
the meeting but it would be good to see the numbers increase.

Thanks again for your partnership in prayer. May all we do be pleasing to our Lord (Col
1:10).

In Christ,
David and Debbie Colvin
